Quick Tips: Staying Motivated During Weight Loss - 1
Your motivation level will depend on factors like knowing your target, receiving support from loved ones and selecting the right foods. Here are a few tips to help sustain your motivation level during the weight loss process:
1. Set a Specific Goal:
The first thing you should do when you decide you want to lose weight is find out where you are right now and what your ideal weight is. A pound equals 3,500 calories. If you are trying to lose 20 pounds you’ll need to burn 70,000 calories and that should be your primary goal. Once you figure this goal out for yourself, you’ll know exactly where you need to go and it’ll help you eliminate many of the potential doubts you would face about progress during weight loss.
After your goal is identified, keep track of where you are every day. Apart from telling you exactly where you’re headed, you’ll also realize that overeating a few times does not sabotage the process at all.
2. Make your goals flexible:
Don’t worry if you’re not meeting your exact goals. As long as you are moving in the right direction, you are fine. The single most important thing is to get to your weight goals, even if it takes longer than you anticipated.
3. Define your reasons for trying to lose weight:
There are, of course, plenty of reasons to lose weight. Reasons like: better general health, lower risk of cancer and heart disease, higher self esteem and many other benefits.
Define your own reasons to lose weight in the very beginning and give them a glance now and again, just to remind yourself why you are doing this.
