beach-volleyball-1.jpgNot only is it fun to watch (for various reasons), it’s also a lot of fun to participate in. Everything from playing barefooted in any attire you’re comfortable with, to the sun, sand and water, make Beach Volleyball the perfect exercise during the summers.

About Beach Volleyball:
Beach Volleyball started in Southern California in the 1920’s. Since then it has become one of the most popular recreational summer sports. The object of the game, just like volleyball, is to hit the ball over a net to your opponents side with the aim to hit the ground on their side of the net.

What You Need To Get Started:
You need 4 things to get started in Beach Volleyball:

1. A Beach
2. A Court - Draw a line in the sand and you have this.
3. A Volleyball:mikasa-vx20-beach-classic-volleyball.jpg

Calorie Burning Potential:
1 Hour of Beach Volleyball burns:

At 130 Pounds: 470 Calories
At 155 Pounds: 560 Calories
At 190 Pounds: 690 Calories
At 225 Pounds: 820 Calories
At 250 Pounds: 910 Calories

So if you take up Beach Volleyball next summer, playing 1 hour every evening, (assuming your burn 600 calories/hour) this will result in:
600 calories per day x 120 days = 72,000 Calories Burned (20 Pounds/10 Kilograms Lost)
