Zlimmer! Eating Guide: Burger King

burger-king-logo.jpgBurger King, a.k.a. “Hungry Jacks” in Australia, is the home of delicious Whopper. In this guide, we’ll start with a common meal at Burger King and try and create alternatives that fill you up just as much but have significantly fewer calories:

Better Options At Burger King:
Let’s assume that your current meal at Burger King is the following:
1 Whopper: 670 Calories
1 Large Fries: 500 Calories
1 Large Coke: 300 Calories
Total: 1,500 Calories.

Now how can we replace each one of the above 3 with options that are similar, make the change easy and have fewer calories? How about this:

Alternative 1:whopper-jr.gif
2 Whopper Jr. w/o Mayo: 580 calories
1 Small Fries: 230 Calories
1 Medium coke: 200 Calories
Total: 1,000 Calories, Calories Saved: 500 Calories

Can you see yourself eating 2 Whopper Jr., Small Fries and a 1 Medium Coke instead of the Whopper + large fries & coke? Isn’t this a simple, yet workable switch and it saves 500 Calories. Let’s try another one:

Alternative 2:
Double Hamburger: 410 Calories
Chicken Tenders (5 Pieces): 210 Calories
Small Coke: 140 Calories
Small Fries: 230 Calories
Total: 1,100 Calories, Calories Saved: 400

Now let’s try something else. If you were having the first meal for lunch, it would mean that you would get hungry again at around 4. Instead, if you divided this into two smaller meals, at 11 and 3, you could possibly go up to dinner at 7 without wanting to eat again, so:

Alternative 3: Two Meals Idea
Meal 1:
1 Whopper (w/o Mayo): 510 Caloriesburger-king-whopper.jpg
1 Small Fries: 230 Calories
& Water
Total: 740 Calories

Meal 2:
Double Hamburger: 410 Calories
Small Coke: 140 Calories
Total: 550 Calories
Two-Meal Total: 1300 Calories
